Competition win for atelier kim.gottlieb: a 280 sq.m. permanent installation for the new City Hall building of Gwangju, Jolla-Do province, Korea. The work articulates the contours of the much-beloved Moodeung mountain, central to Gwangju's identity, using illuminated fabrics woven with optical fibers. |

UPDATED PHOTOS: November 1, 2003 First inspection today by, among others, the Mayor, and it seems everyone's very satisfied (fancy that?) we only had a couple of banks of optical-fiber material up and glowing, but the building is far from ready itself, and Optonest/Prof. Han did a great job squeezing every possible lumen into the fiber. |
